Consultancy

IDC offers expert technical and contractual advice on contractual claims, value engineering, risk management and design.

Contractual Claims

We specialise in the forensic analysis of construction claims and the determination of quantities relating to delays or arising from any other sources.

We offer assistance to clients with regards to these matters whether as a means to promoting a negotiated settlement, defending against un-merited claims or supporting a case in arbitration or litigation.

Some of the services we typically offer include:

• Circumstances which might give rise to a claim with a view to offering advice with regards to how to proceed.

• Claims which have been prepared by a Contractor but not yet submitted with a view to offering an independent view of the approach and content.

• Claims which have been submitted by a Contractor and rejected by the Employer with a view to suggesting a way forward.

• Claims which have been received by an Employer with a view to recommending how best to deal with them.

Value Engineering

Our value engineered designs utilise our comprehensive experience and technical ability in design and construction.

Our approach can be adopted for any project by the Employer and or the contractor pre tender as well as post tender.

We study and examine the design specification, materials and method of construction to identify the unnecessary costs in design and construction and propose alternatives to reduce cost without sacrificing quality or performance requirements.

Risk Management

We have the expertise and knowhow to guide our clients through the complex technical and contractual matters involved with infrastructure projects.

We advise the client of the risks by evaluating and ensuring that the design produced by his professional team is cost effective, buildable and risk aware.

We identify the role the Designers, Constructors and the Employers can play in minimizing the risks in construction projects.

The relationship between design and construction methods and the importance of this relationship has to be appreciated by all involved in the construction process.

The factors affecting the risk to construction projects include Technical, Contractual and Project Management and their influence can vary depending on the stage of the construction process from feasibility through design and construction.
